In October 2014, I left Iran to find out what life might feel like outside a cage. It was a step into the unknown, and it changed both my life and my work.
Looking back, my professional path clearly divides into two periods: before and after immigration.
Before leaving, I was searching—experimenting, testing, and trying to understand my voice. After immigration, my work began to settle into a clearer language. I became more aware of my style, though I continue to grow, question, and discover every day.
Over the years, I have illustrated more than seventy books. For a time, I enjoyed counting them. Then I stopped. What matters more is that I lived with each one. Some projects were ordinary, some meaningful, some transformative. A few brought awards, travel, festivals, and friendships that remain important to me. Others taught me quieter lessons—about boundaries, trust, and endurance.
I see my work as an ongoing practice rather than a finished statement. There are still many surprises ahead, and I remain open to them.
Below, you can find a selected overview of my professional milestones and recognitions.
